American actress claims Romanian doctors posed threat to her life

In an interview with American magazine Maxim, American actress Jana Kramer claims that while in Romania in 2005 for shootings of the Ellory Elkayem-directed film ‘Return of the Living Dead: Necropolis’, she was wrongly diagnosed with appendicitis, for which she underwent surgery, despite her having a gall bladder condition instead. During the interview, she said that while she felt sick, she didn’t want to be perceived as a burden. However, she had to eventually go to the hospital, where a doctor that hardly spoke English told her she had to have her appendix removed. The actress said she was feeling increasingly ill after surgery, reason for which she decided to go and see a doctor in the States. She sustains the American doctor told her a gall bladder condition was responsible for her ill-being, which meant the surgical removal of her appendix was futile. She also said what was supposed to be a post-surgery recovery period of six days turned out to be 14 days actually, as she got sick with pneumonia while in hospital. She also had that, unless she had surgery in the US, she could have died. Jana Kramer is best known for her roles in the series ‘One Tree Hill’, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and ‘Entourage’.
