Cluj-Napoca and Cardiff, the capital city of Wales, will become twin cities, with the first relevant talks to be held this autumn, Cluj Mayor Sorin Apostu announced after he met with Robin Barnett, the UK Ambassador to Romania. The British diplomat said business people in the UK are interested in doing business in Romania, Transylvania especially. In his turn, the Cluj mayor announced the British Council will develop cooperation with Cluj universities, boosting cultural and educational ties. Also approached at the meeting, the support the UK might offer to the city of Cluj-Napoca in its bid to become European cultural capital around year 2019. The two cities have a similar population size of 300,000.
