More than 20 Marines and Sailors from Black Sea Rotational Force and the U.S. Navy’s Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 7 detachment at Mihail Kogalniceanu Airfield, Romania refurbished a playground at a home for children and teens in Constanta, Romania, June 19-22, reads a communiqué sent by the U.S Marine Corps. Casa Speranta is a home for HIV-positive children, teens and young adults. Children in the home’s care are placed in individual families, with four or five children cared for by a single volunteer, or house mother. Marines and Sailors who volunteered said the project wasn’t only an opportunity to display to the world the character those who serve in uniform possess, but to grow as individuals as well.
