Two Financial Guard inspectors brought to trial on corruption charges

Bucharest Financial Guard inspectors Laurentiu Valentin Koloszi and Florin Gheorghe have been indicted in a corruption case in which they are charged with receiving a RON 7,000 RON bribe from a company representative with the purpose of no fines being issued against the company and no further inspections being carried out. According to the indictment May 18, the two defendants demanded and received from the company representative RON 7,000 as bribe. In order for the court to have the bribe money seized, prosecutors ordered the movable and immovable assets owned by the two defendants being put under restraint. The two inspectors have been under preventive arrest in a different bribe case, June 23, for similar charges, as they demanded RON 3,000 from the manager of a funeral company in order that they don’t suspend the company’s operations and don’t file a criminal complaint against the enterprise.
