Probe into low pass rate in high school graduation exam

Buzau School Inspectorate has opened an investigation into the situation reported at the Agricultural High School in Smeeni where many pupils with high grades over the years failed their graduation exam on grades little more above 2. One of the best pupils in Physics in the school was marked with 2.4 points in the subject matter in which he had done excellently so far, ‘Adevarul’ reports.

All 63 candidates from the Agricultural High School in Smeeni, Buzau County, failed their exam, although, according to the grades they have obtained during the school years, some of them are good and even very good pupils. The heads of the Schools Inspectorate blame it on the teachers. “They are the only ones to blame: then cling to their jobs and allow unprepared pupils to go into exams. (…) How do teachers explain the grades they have given to pupils? We will conduct an investigation,” Inspector General for Schools Florina Stoian said.
