Government cuts 2,450 jobs at Environment Ministry

The government decided to cut a total of 2,450 jobs from the Environment Ministry personnel and in structures reporting to the institution, including 1,190 occupied posts, Environment Minister Laszlo Borbely told Mediafax yesterday, after the Cabinet meeting. The government also reduced to just two the number of state secretaries in the Ministry. Marin Anton, currently state secretary with the Transport Ministry will take over a similar position with the Environment Ministry, which will lay off two out of three acting state secretaries, namely Dan Carlan and Mircea Ioan Cotosman.
