Writer Mircea Micu dies

Mircea Micu died on Sunday, aged 73, his close of kin stated, on Monday, quoted by Mediafax. According to representatives of the Romanian Writers’ Union, Mircea Micu’s body will be deposed today at the chapel of the Vitan-Barzesti Crematorium in the Capital, where he is to be cremated on the same day. Mircea Micu published over 35 volumes of fiction, poetry, memoirs. He was a laureate of the Bucharest Writers’ Association and Romanian Academy’s literary awards for fiction, poetry and drama. The writer was, also, the chairman of the “Mihai Eminescu” International Foundation for Culture, Art and Civil Morals.
