Films, theatre, photography at Stufstock

The eighth edition of the Stufstock festival, which will take place between August 16 and 22, on the beach in Vama Veche, brings before the public rock bands like Zdob si Zdub, Nicu Alifantis & Zan, E.M.I.L., Trooper, Urma or Luna Amara, which already kept thousands of fans up in Vama, as well as new music, film screenings or photography workshops, the organizers announced, on Wednesday, in a press conference. Mircea Toma, one of the organizers, said, on this occasion, that the festival was meant to “regain some ground” for the genres of music which were bound with the spirit of Vama Veche.

“In 2002, 2003, 2004, in the years before Stufstock started being held in Vama Veche, there were a lot of people here, it was quite a crowd, and they promoted a kind of music which the traditional visitors of Vama Veche perceived as an alien body, an aggressive attack on their cultural identity. We are, now, trying to regain some ground for the genres of music which were more closely bound with the spirit of the regulars in Vama Veche,” Mircea Toma said. He confessed he was left with the regret that what used to happen in Vama Veche and in 2 Mai in the old days seems irretrievably lost. On the other hand, Valentino Rudolf, the producer of the festival, stated that, by expanding the range of the event, the organizers propose to restore the cultural dimension of Vama Veche.

He added that the entrance ticket for the festival is RON 20 per day, and the full pass is RON 35.
