Defence Strategy gets committees’ nod

The foreign affairs committees of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate yesterday approved the country’s National Defence Strategy, in the shape put forward by President Traian Basescu and the Supreme Defence Council, Mediafax reported. The most controversial article in the strategy, the one including media campaigns among national vulnerabilities, remained in the text. The heads of the two committees, Korodi Attila and Titus Corlatean said the opposition’s amendment to remove that article did not gather enough votes.
