Theatre marathon at Dalles

Sixteen theatre performances are scheduled for the upcoming weekend, in a space that is both unconventional and unexpected, Bucharest’s Dalles Galleries. The event, entitled Independent Theatre’s Marathon will feature 80 actors playing along the two days in a series of free performances. Initiating the project is teatrul.ro, an independent association of actors and directors. The festival will open on Friday September 10 as of 5 pm with “Testament,” an original text that sees the limelight for the first time in this season. As of 6.30, Obligo Theatre Group presents “Improvising and all”, followed by the pantomime show “Contrasts” at 11 pm. Saturday is dedicated to modern theatre and non-verbal means of expression, as of 4 pm “The Effect of Gamma over Wind Flowers: will be performed., followed by the pantomime show “CEO” and by “W & J=LOVE” at 9 pm. The evening concludes with two highly modern performances “Would you like to be my Homepage?” at 10.30 pm and “Girl Power” 11.30 pm.
On Sunday, the marathon continues at 4 pm with “Some Girls” and at 6 pm with “A Pocketful of Bread.” The event concludes with “Improvisneyland” at 9 pm and “TV Show” at 11 pm. The marathon also functions as an instrument of testing the public as the new independent theatre Apropo, opening in October will feature some of the plays that were received best by the marathon audience.
