Heineken Romania posts 7 pc bigger turnover for H1

The turnover of Heineken Romania rose by 7 per cent in the first half of the year on a year-on-year basis, to a gross figure of RON 542 M standing for a net result of RON 451 M, the brewery informed by press release yesterday. According to the Romania’s Brewers’ Association, the local beer market dropped by approximately 11 pc in H1 of 2010 compared to H1 of 2009, under the impact of the plunging purchasing power of the Romanian population. ‘Taking into consideration the current economic situation – both local and international – it is hard to anticipate how the beer industry will perform by the end of the second half of 2010,’ Jan Derck van Karnebeek, General Manager of Heineken Romania, said.
