Romanian-German commission for ethnic Germans meets in Sibiu

The 14th meeting of a joint German-Romanian governmental commission for ethnic Germans’ issues is taking place in Sibiu today, according to a press release from the Foreign Ministry, carried by Agerpres. A protocol will be signed at the end of the meeting. Foreign Ministry’s State Secretary for European Affairs Bogdan Aurescu will attend the meeting as co-president of the Romanian side and Germany will be represented by Christoph Bergner, parliamentary secretary of state with the German Interior Ministry and special representative of the federal government for German origin immigrants and national minorities’ problems, the release reads. The commission will discuss support granted to the German community in Romania since the last meeting, in April last year, and projects that will be conducted this year and the next.
