Fatboy Slim to perform at Bucharest club on October 1

Celebrated English DJ Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim will perform in the capital’s Studio Martin on October 1, just a few months after he was one of the headliners of The Mission Dance Weekend 2010 event on the Romanian seaside. Tickets for the performance cost RON 100 and are available on the website bilete.ro. The show begins at 10 p.m.

Fatboy Slim first performed in Romania in the summer of 2006, also within an event The Mission. Since then, he returned at The Mission Dance Weekend twice, in August 2008 and August 2010.

Born Quentin Leo Cook in 1963, Fatboy Slim is also a big beat musician, record producer and pioneer of the electronic dance genre that achieved mainstream popularity in the 1990s. After various collaborations and projects, he released the first album under the name Fatboy Slim, “Better Living Through Chemistry” in 1997, a work that contained the Top 40 UK hit, “Everybody Needs a 303.”

His next work was the single “The Rockafeller Skank,” released prior to the album “You’ve Come a Long Way, Baby,” both of which came out in 1998. “Praise You,” also from this album, was Cook’s first UK solo number one.
