Romanian-Polish bilateral consultations on security matters started in Warsaw yesterday and are expected to continue the whole day today. The debates will focus on NATO-related issues, as well as on European security topics, MAE informs through a release received by ‘Nine O’Clock’. Secretary of State for European Affairs Bogdan Aurescu heads the Romanian delegation participating in the Romanian-Polish bilateral security consultations. He will have talks with Jacek Najder, Secretary of State in charge of security affairs at the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Stanislaw Koziej, national security adviser of the president of Poland and with Zbigniew Wlosowicz, Secretary of State with the Defence Ministry in Warsaw. On the agenda there are topics pertaining to NATO general affairs, with an emphasis falling on the New Strategic Concept, preparations ahead of the Lisbon Summit, participation in the Kosovo and Afghanistan operations, as well as European security and consolidation of participation in EU’s civil missions. Aurescu will also hold a speech on energy security and co-operation opportunities in the Black Sea region, at a conference he will be attending during his visit to Warsaw.
