Standing Bureau validates PNL’s shadow Cabinet

PNL President Crin Antonescu announced yesterday, at the conclusion of the party’s standing bureau, that the Liberals have validated with a majority of votes his proposed shadow Cabinet, as well as the new political programme of the party, ‘The Liberal Statute,’ Realitatea TV reports. A total 90 delegates were in favour of the shadow Cabinet, against just 38. The PNL leader stressed this is for the first time when a party formally comes with such a Cabinet. He admitted that the list was met with mixed reactions. According to Antonescu, the members of the Liberal leading body had a quality debate over the main subjects of the Permanent Delegation: the Liberal programme and the shadow Cabinet. The members of the Delegation voted in unanimity in favour of PNL’s new programme, ‘The Liberal Statute.’

Last week, the president of PNL unveiled a shadow Cabinet of 11 members, which includes Claudiu Doltu – counselor of the BNR governor – as minister of Finance, Andrei Marga – Education, Mariana Campeanu – Labour and Social Protection, Victor Paul Dobre – Administration and Interior. Some influential Liberals are missing from Antonescu’s list, like former premier Calin Popescu Tariceanu and former Finance Minister Varujan Vosganian.
