Riparian communities on display at MTR

Where: Peasant Museum, Kiseleff Road, 3, Bucharest

When: September 26- 28

As of September 26 the Peasant Museum and Carturesti will put together a series of events developed under the RIVER (Representing the Identities and the Voices of the European Riparian Communities) trademark. The first day of the event coincides with the European Day of Languages and will be marked by the opening of a RIVER exhibit and a book launch ( “Blue Flows”) at Carturesti MTR (the space also known as “La Nuiele”). The exhibit includes works from visual artists who, in September 2009, have participated in a special workshop in Arges County. The events will continue the next day in Peasant Museum’s Horia Bernea Hall with a special theatre performance installed especially for the RIVER project, entitled “Blue Flows”. Financed through the cultural programme RIVER 2007-2013, the event brings forward the cultural heritage of small European communities unfolding along river flows, with a special focus on riparian communities in Italy, Romania, Finland and Poland.
