Swedish writer Malmberg winner of Marin Sorescu Prize

The Romanian Cultural Institute in Stockholm last week handed out the 2010 Marin Sorescu Prize to Swedish journalist and writer Carl-Johan Malmberg, according to HotNews. In a ceremony at the Gothenburg Book Fair, the writer received this prize as recognition for “an ample work that crosses various literary genres, showing deep and vast knowledge in various fields, with generosity and stern confidence in the aesthetic value of writing.” Malmberg is the author of seven volumes of essays, poetry and prose, the most recent work of his being M. Möten med Mahler, Melville, Duras och minnets atleter / M. Moments with Mahler, Melville, Duras and Athletes of Memory, released last year.
