Ion Iliescu to dine with Gorbachev and Bulgarian PM

Ex President Ion Iliescu has been invited to attend a dinner in the company of Bulgarian PM Boiko Borisov, organised on the sidelines of a forum held in Sofia on October 7. Bulgarian ‘Standard’ daily is quoted by Realitatea TV as informing that a few famous figures of the international political elite, including former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, are on the guest list. The father of the Perestroika, Mikhail Gorbachev, will be visiting Bulgaria on October 7 to attend the ‘Europe Looks Eastwards’ forum bringing together an entire world political elite, Bulgarian daily ‘Standard’ announces. Apart from Gorbachev, some other expected guests are former Spanish PM Felipe Gonzales, former Turkish PM Mesut Yilmaz, former Foreign Ministers Hans Dietrich Genscher (Germany) and Aleksandr Bessmertnih (Russia), as well as ex-Romanian President Ion Iliescu, the ‘Standard’ notes. The conference is organised by Gorbachev’s New Policy Forum and by Bulgarian Slavii Foundation headed by Zaharia Zahariev.
