Tariceanu attacks Antonescu’s Cabinet

The former president of the National Liberal Party (PNL) criticizes the make-up of the Shadow Cabinet announced by Crin Antonescu, arguing it is not representative for the party. “I do not believe in this notion, circulated sometimes, of a government of technocrats. The Cabinet which was presented includes a series of names of technocrats who are not even representative in their respective domains,” Calin Popescu Tariceanu stated in an interview to “22”. Moreover, the latter denounces the absence of resonant names in the phantom-government: “Alongside the names of first-rank representatives in the party – such as Teodor Melescanu, Mariana Campeanu, Andrei Marga and others – there are people unknown to the party, people who are not members of PNL. The president admitted this. There are a lot of people on the Standing Delegation eager to know the criteria. We weren’t told a thing. And, as in all modern parties, the leader is accountable to his colleagues, I would want us to maintain this tradition in PNL, rather than follow the Traian Basescu model.”
