Football: Romanian bid for EURO 2020?

FRF President Mircea Sandu announced that he has initiated the first steps for a joint Romanian-Hungarian bid to host the European Championships in 2020 or 2024, with a final decision set to be taken at political level, Agerpres informs. “The development of a state’s infrastructure gains support when hosting a great event. We have to lobby the government, the President and the Parliament in order to host European Championships in 2020 or 2024. We held very fast talks with the Hungarian Federation, with Hungary’s Premier Viktor Orban and we’ve also sent a letter to the Prime Minister Boc and are now waiting for the feedback,” Mircea Sandu said.
