Vintu sues Democrat Liberal leaders

Businessman Sorin Ovidiu Vintu is suing PM Emil Boc, Tourism Minister Elena Udrea and Chamber of Deputies’ Secretary Sever Voinescu, all of them ruling Democrat Liberal Party leaders, for slander after they accused him of being involved in a coup and of stealing National Investment Fund (FNI) money, journalist Victor Ciutacu revealed on his blog. Vintu is reportedly seeking a total of EUR 2.25 M in damage from the three. The businessman also said that he was determined to sue anybody else who says he stole money from the FNI, except journalists. Vintu was tried on various counts of fraud in relation to the FNI crash case, in which thousands of people lost their savings, but was acquitted.
