Bankers and lawyers get involved in reforming Romanian capital market

Nine banks and eight law firms formed a Working Group for reforming the Romanian capital market, according to a press release. The Working Group is made up of the Romanian Commercial Bank (BCR), BRD-Groupe Societe Generale, BT Securities, Carpatica Invest, Eurobank EFG Securities, ING Bank NV, KBC Securities, Piraeus Bank and Raiffeisen Capital & Investment, along with law firms Badea Clifford Chance, CMS Cameron McKenna, D&B Davis and Baias, Musat and Associates, Nestor Nestor Diculescu Kingston Patersen, RTPR Allen & Overy, Schoenherr and Associates, Tuca Zbarcea and Associates. Given the significant gap between the Romanian capital market and the markets of the other EU members, the Group sets out to contribute to bring the legal and procedural framework of the local capital market up-to-date and make it more efficient in order to help Romanian economy get out of the crisis the fastest possible.
