The National Anti-corruption Directorate (DNA) yesterday filed a request to arrest Democrat-Liberal Deputy Dan Pasat, charged with several counts of corruption committed during 2009-2010. Under the Constitution, DNA shall ask Parliament for such approval. According to the file built by prosecutors, quoted by Agerpres, Pasat is accused that, in his capacity as MP and general secretary of the PDL Giurgiu organization, “along with one of his henchman, Marin Constantin aka Marian The Boxer, put pressure aimed at persuading two business partners to yield certain contracts, along with some substantial amounts of money.” Pasat was elected MP on the lists of the National Liberal Party (PNL), yet joined the Democratic Liberal Party (PDL) in February 2010.
