Blaga likely to run for top position in PDL

The secretary general of the Democratic-Liberal Party (PDL), Vasile Blaga yesterday announced in an interview with Gandul newspaper that he will run for the top position of PDL “if things get tense in the party,” more precisely if some fellow party members will skip some stages to accede to leading positions. In the same interview, Blaga speaks about his resignation from the position of Interior minister, saying that he left because he did not accept to find “scapegoats” for the policemen’s protest of September 24, and also because he rejected some pressure put by the party to sack a state secretary and the heads of several law enforcement agencies.
