Brinkley: “Bute is a monster, a damn nightmare”

Before the 15 October fight at the Bell Center in Montreal, when current IBF super-middle weight champion, the Romanian Lucian Bute, will fight mandatory contender Jesse Brinkley, the American said he is prepared to face “a monster” and a “nightmare”.

“I got to face the biggest and worst monster. But I’m telling you, is awesome. It’s a storybook ending for me. (…) I know what to expect from an undefeated world champion. What do you always expect to see from an undefeated world champion? Their best, their greatest. (…) I already know what to expect from Lucian: a monster, a damn nightmare (…) He is going to bring out the animal in me somewhere. (…) I’ll be honest, I’m stoked. I got a great team, I’m matured mentally, I’m matured physically (…) I have nothing to lose. If this guy to go in there and think he can just dominate me and beat me up, then he is lying to himself and his team is lying to him. For him to think I’m too small for him, and he is too big, well he only has me on height and shoe size, so big (…) deal,” he said for an exclusive interview on www.fighthype.com.
