Gerhard Schroeder in Bucharest visit on Friday

Three days after an official visit from Angela Merkel, former German chancellor Gerhardt Schroeder was invited to open on Friday a conference entitled “Whereto Europe? Left wing’s economical solutions” put together by Sincai Institute and moderated by former PM Adrian Nastase.

The politician was Chancellor of Germany from 1998 to 2005. A member of the Social-Democrat Party of Germany (SPD), he led a coalition government of the SPD and the Greens. Before becoming a full-time politician, he had been lawyer, and before becoming Chan­cellor he served as Prime Minister of Lower Saxony (1990-1998).
