Siemens joins Breast Cancer Awareness campaign

In October – the Breast Cancer Awareness international month – the Siemens campaign has started a worldwide breast cancer awareness raising campaign ‘Join the pink ribbon around the world’, a press release informs. When the pink ribbon has completed its full tour around the world, Siemens AG will donate EUR 50,000 to the Susan G. Komen non-profit organisation conducting a global anti-breast cancer campaign.’ Over 10 per cent of all women are diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime. The aim of this campaign is to raise awareness of the illness and convince more women to use early detection means. I encourage all our colleagues to take part in this campaign’ Healthcare, Imaging and IT, Workflow & Solutions Division head Marian Ghinescu says.

Another step in this direction is the contribution of an independent institution that will conduct a survey designed to measure how informed women aged between 25 and 65 are about breast cancer and early detection.
