Appeal for teacher to end hunger strike, refused

PSD Honorary President Ion Iliescu called on his colleagues, in the party’s Congress, on Saturday, to approve the launch of an appeal to the teacher Cristiana Anghel to end her hunger strike, asking the Olt and Caracal deputies to advise her of the party’s appreciation and solidarity. The schoolteacher, who has been on a hunger strike for 54 days, replied to Iliescu’s appeal by saying she would not renounce this extreme form of protest. “I cannot give up until the law is withdrawn. This is an elementary condition that I can stop feeling humiliated (…)”, the teacher said.
