Free discount coupons to be taxed

The discount price coupons companies and stores currently give to customers and that may be used for buying goods at a lower price, will be taxed by the Government who has just decided to remove them from the class of not-taxable income, ‘Romania libera’ daily informs. The way the discount coupons will be taxed will be regulated by the new Fiscal Code. Currently, the value of the coupons representing vouchers given to natural persons free of charge is non-taxable income. The provisions referring to the non-taxing of such coupons have been scraped from the text of the draft ordinance that will change the Fiscal Code.
