PDL supports draft law on State – Church partnership

Democrat-Liberal Vice President Gheorghe Flutur has stated that the PDL representatives will support a draft law on the State – Church Partnership. “We want an active or more active role; there is also a legislative initiative in this sense, concerning the Church’s relation with the state and by that we mean its social, educational and philanthropic role and of course the partnership would entail closer collaboration with the Church,” Flutur said, pointing out that this was one of the subjects discussed by the party’s leadership yesterday. “There is a legislative initiative in Parliament and today (yesterday – editor’s note) we’ve talked about supporting it along with the possible amendments to it,” Flutur added.
