Romanian national assaulted by Hungarian customs officers

A Romanian youth was held for over eight hours by Hungarian officers at the Cenad customs point, after his car blocked the border checkpoint, Realitatea news informs. The victim’s relatives, who were with him in the car, say Hungarian customs officers held their papers without a reason and they also claimed to be paid a bribe. They also managed to film the moment customs officers immobilized the victim, on his way back to Romania from work in Italy. Along with him in the car, there were his wife and two cousins. Hungarian officers demanded to check the Romanians’ travel documents. “Thy left with the documents and didn’t return. Eyewitnesses say Hungarian customs officers often demand bribes from Romanians upon their crossing the border. The driver was held by Hungarian authorities for more than eight hours.
