The scandal of energy records goes on

The former Minister of Economy Varujan Vosganian pressured Hidroelectrica, in 2008, into purchasing, for ten years’ time, expensive energy from the Paroseni steam power plant, the general manager of the company, Mihai David, claims, quoted by “Romania Libera”.

Varujan Vosganian denounces David’s allegations as false, considering them “a far-fetched assimilation” to the ALRO records’ scandal. The service-providing contract between Hidroelectrica and Termoelectrica is a contract between two state companies and is meant to assist the Paroseni plant which, since it operated on coal, needed funds for environment investments, in the absence of which it risked being shut down.
