UEFA Launches Lawsuit in Euro 2012 Bribery Scandal

UEFA has launched legal proceedings against Spyros Marangos amid fresh revelations in the Italian press that Poland-Ukraine bought the right to host the 2012 European Championships with nearly EUR 10 million (USD 14 million) worth of cash bribes, worldfootballinsider.com informs. Senior Polish and Ukrainian officials immediately denied wrongdoing and UEFA gave Marangos, the former treasurer of the Cypriot FA, a deadline to come up with evidence or face disciplinary proceedings and legal action.
