Anca Boagiu, head of the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MTI), met a European Investment Bank delegation led by Vice President Matthias Kollatz-Ahnen on Friday. The two sides established the mechanism through which the EIB and the European Commission will assist MTI in the process of monitoring the implementation of projects financed through reimbursable and non-reimbursable European funds, Mediafax notes. “We have established that JASPER (IEB’s Joint Assistance to Support Projects in European Regions) will extend its role in Romania after 2013 too, the date when its initial mandate was set to expire, and will focus more on the assistance offered to Management Authorities (…),” Boagiu stated in a communiqué. At the same time, the talks also touched on public-private partnership investments (PPP).
