More young people choose to study abroad

Dozens of international educational organisations are participating these days in the autumn edition of Romanian University Fair (RIUF) 2010 that opened at Sala Palatului yesterday. Many of the pupils and students who visited the fair said they would like to study abroad but only if they could get a scholarship, otherwise they couldn’t afford tuition fees. A year of schooling in the US, for example, costs over USD 35,000. The cost of higher education in Europe is a little smaller: EUR 200/ year for a degree and EUR 300 for a master’s programme in France. On the fair, the prospective applicants could even have interviews with foreign universities. According to Realitatea TV, yesterday, approximately 45 young people held interviews and were accepted to study at a Dutch university.
