Vadim Tudor, re-elected president of Greater Romania Party

Corneliu Vadim Tudor was re-elected, on Saturday evening, at the helm of the Greater Romania Party (PRM), in a congress in which he faced no challengers. The party leader stated that his party would collaborate with the Social Democratic Party (PSD) to prevent another instance of electoral fraud, but that, in the next elections, they may also seal a deal with “the young lad’s party”, after “getting him out of jail” (e.n. the New Generation Party – PNG, led by Gigi Becali). “Clearly the great names of Romanian politics are in PRM. (…) Our time has come at last. We’ve all made mistakes, I no less than others, but they were not directed against our country. (…) It’s a good thing we’re still here and that more and more people see us as this country’s last hope,” C.V. Tudor stated.
The congress, which took place at Romexpo, was also attended by the general mayor of Bucharest, Sorin Oprescu, as well as Chinese and North Korean diplomats. Oprescu heaped praise on PRM, arguing the party has been a backbone of Romania and that it is characterized by moral purity, an unwavering conscience and courage.
