Turkish fishing boat captured in Romanian waters

Constanta-based border policemen made use of machinegun fire on Wednesday night in order to stop a Turkish fishing boat that was poaching in Romania’s Black Sea Economic Exclusion Zone. Chief commissioner Adrian Burcea, the spokesperson of Constanta County’s Border Police Inspectorate, stated yesterday that patrol boat MAI 1104 spotted the fishing boat on radar approximately 60 nautical miles off Constanta harbour. After their repeated calls were ignored the border policemen engaged in pursuit and made use of several bursts of machinegun fire. The fishing boat was towed to Constanta harbour for verifications.
