Claudiu Niculescu, new U Cluj head coach

After losing 2-0 against Sportul Studentesc, U Cluj head coach Marian Pana filed his resignation on Monday. Claudiu Niculescu will take his place. “We had a discussion and he decided to file his resignation, being probably disappointed with the attitude that the players exhibited in the game against Sportul. Pana took me by surprise too. I have several options at hand; I’ll work tonight on finding the right person. What I can tell you is that Claudiu Niculescu is the team’s head coach at this moment,” club owner Florian Walter, stated for ‘Ziarul de Cluj.’ Sports director Paul Cazan announced his resignation too.
