Johann Strauss Ensemble, back on Romanian tour

The prestigious Austrian chamber orchestra Johann Strauss Ensemble will be back in Romania, for the sixth consecutive year, between December 11 and 19, for the national Christmas tour “Best of Vienna”, delighting us with musical works which became part of their trademark repertoire. According to an organizers’ release, the Viennese orchestra’s tour will include cities Bucharest (December 11, the Palace Hall), Timisoara (December 12, the Banat Philharmonic), Arad (December 13, the “Ioan Slavici” Theatre), Targu Mures (December 15, the Culture Palace), Cluj (December 16, the Students’ Culture House), Medias (December 17) and Brasov (December 19, the “Sica Alexandrescu” Theatre). The Johann Strauss Ensemble is the only original Viennese orchestra to undertake a national tour in Romania this year, the organizers announce. The concert’s conductor and soloist is the talented and charismatic conductor of the famous Schonbrunn palace orchestra, Russell McGregor. He had a chance to “conduct” or play alongside the likes of Luciano Pavarotti, Jose Carreras or Placido Domingo. Tickets for the concert are already on sale, and, in Bucharest, they range between RON 50 and 250. They can be found at concert hall box-offices and online on bilete.ro.
