Dinescu won trial with ANI on incompatibility issue

The Bucharest Court of Appeal annulled the National Integrity Agency (ANI) decision regarding Mircea Dinescu’s incompatibility, resulting from the latter’s acting, simultaneously, as member of the National Council for the Study of Securitate Archives (CNSAS), the equivalent of a state secretary office, and as manager of two companies. The Court of Appeal’s ruling is not final and can be appealed against at the High Court of Cassation and Justice. One day after the ANI decision, Dinescu stated he was “disgusted” with the situation and would not sue against the decision. One week later, however, he changed his mind and announced he had filed “several documents” at CNSAS, attesting that he was not acting in incompatibility.
