“Adevarul” ex editorial chief blames management

Adrian Halpert, the resigning editorial chief of Adevarul Holding, states in an interview to “Jurnalul National” that the new management of Dinu Patriciu’s trust is unprofessional and lacks a vision, while Peter Imre, the company’s general manager, “was trained with the mindset of a maitre d’hotel”. Halpert resigned on November 9, saying goodbye to his colleagues in a letter in which he denounces, among other things, the fact that “our profession is no longer respected in this company.” When asked what had been “the last straw” which made him quit, Halpert replied: “The moment in which they discussed, above my head, a restructuring, staff and concept plan for magazines in Adevarul Holding. The moment in which they started taking on editing staff without consulting me. That was when I said ‘enough’, because I refuse to become a mere decorative figure.”
