Armed confrontations between interlopers in Piatra Neamt café

Gheorghita Mararu, a controversial businessman in Piatra Neamt, was shot, on Sunday, in a café in the centre of Piatra Neamt by a man who seems to have been a member of a rival gang. The victim died, subsequently, in hospital. Mararu’s brother, also shot by the attacker, was stable, yesterday. According to the witnesses, the victim was with several friends in the café and, at a certain point, he was approached by a man who pulled out a gun and shot him five times. According to preliminary investigations, the attacker is a member in a rival gang. Three years ago, another figure in the Piatra Neamt underworld was shot and, at the time, Gheorghita Mararu was suspected of having ordered the attack. Around the same time, several luxury cars owned by interlopers in Piatra Neamt were set on fire by unidentified persons. The investigators were trying, yesterday, to identify the attacker.
