Women’s handball: HC Zalau – RK Zajecar 29-25 in EHF Cup

Women’s handball team HC Zalau defeated Serbia’s RK Zajecar 29-25 at home Sunday in the first leg of the 3rd round of the EHF Cup.

Gheorghe Tadici’s team was in control of the game right from the start, leading by four points, 8-4 on 11 minutes. They even pushed their lead to five goals, 11-6, on 16 minutes, yet, at the recess HC Zalau were ahead by only four goals, 16-12. HC Zalau were comfortably ahead of their opponents throughout the second half, but for a brief period, when the guest team clawed back their way to only one point behind their Romanian opponents, 25-24, on 52 minutes. Tadici’s team increased their advantage to 29-25 in the dying minutes of the game. The second leg will be played at Zacejar, Nov. 20.
