Romania is in the fifth position in an EU ranking of export rise in the first eight months this year, with 25 per cent year-on-year growth, the indicator dropping in just one EU member state, Eurostat says. Bulgaria is ranked first in terms of export rise recorded in January-August (32 per cent), followed by Latvia (29 per cent) and Lithuania (28 per cent). European leaders in terms of export value are Germany (EUR 614.9 bln), The Netherlands (EUR 276.5 bln) and France (EUR 255.2 bln). From the point of view of import rise in January-August 2010, Romania is ranked sixth in the EU, with 19 per cent, equal to Hungary. The most notable rise was in Sweden (31 per cent), Lithuania (27 per cent) and the Czech Republic (24 per cent). The indicator dropped in Ireland (2 per cent) and Greece (11 per cent) and stalled in Luxembourg.
