CCR to discuss Emil Boc’s petition on Thursday

The Romanian Constitutional Court (CCR) decided it would debate on Thursday prime-minister Emil Boc’s petition for the resolution of the legal conflict, constitutional in nature, between the Government and Parliament on the education bill. The premier sent CCR, on Monday, a petition for the resolution of the legal conflict between the Executive and the Legislative regarding the Education bill. The ruling coalition decided, on Monday, to support the completion of the procedure of the Government’s taking responsibility on the national education law. The CCR assembly ruled, on November 3, with a majority of votes, that the Government’s taking responsibility on the national education bill was unconstitutional and it created a legal conflict between the Executive and Parliament, as the bill is under debate in the Senate, acting as the decisional chamber.
