NATO lawmakers’ assembly elects German as new head

German Karl Lamers was elected Tuesday as the new head of NATO’s parliamentary assembly, which groups lawmakers from the alliance’s 28 member states, expatica.com reported. He replaces John Tanner, a US Democratic member of Congress whose term has ended after two years at the helm.
