Romania dropping in the ranking of retailers’ targets for expansion

The number of retailers interested in expanding on the Romanian market dropped, compared to last year, according to a CB Richard Ellis (CBRE) study for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), quoted by Mediafax.

According to the study, Romania ranks 15th out of 20 in the ranking of the retailers’ locations of choice, compared to the 8th position last year. “This year, Romania ranks 15th in the top 20 of the countries preferred by expanding retailers, and only 17 per cent of the respondents answered in the affirmative as regards a potential expansion on the local market,” is mentioned in the release. Last year, Romania ranked 8th among the most sought after markets in the region, and 26 per cent of the respondents listed it as a potential destination for expansion in 2010.
