The Next Three Days (USA 2010)

Director: Paul Haggis

Cast: Russell Crowe, Elizabeth Banks, Liam Neeson

Venues: Movieplex Cinema Plaza, Hollywood Multiplex, CinemaPRO, Cinema City Sun Plaza, Cinema City Cotroceni

Written and Directed by Paul Haggis who is responsible for exquisite scripts such as Million Dollar Baby, In The Valley Of Elah or Crash, this new Russel Crowe vehicle finds the ordinary life of family man John Brennan shattered when his wife Lara is convicted for allegedly murdering her boss. Basically, John, who teaches literature and is an admirer of Don Quixote, vows to come up with a plan to free her no matter the consequences. He eventually decides that, if the system is not under our control, fighting it with own resources is the best way to be free. The Next Three Days is a lot more than your average thriller. The film works on multiple levels and it manages to do what many blockbusters today won’t, and that is create suspense.
