Lobby for Schengen

The Permanent Bureau of the Chamber of Deputies yesterday gave green light to the lobby initiatives aimed at Romania’s accession to the Schengen Zone, proposed by the chief of the Romanian Parliament’s Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Democrat-Liberal legislator Cezar Preda. The list of proposals includes inviting to Romania the leaders of political groups in the European Parliament, and the delegations of France and The Netherlands to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). The Democrat-Liberal also proposed inviting the ambassadors of Schengen states in Bucharest, Eurodeputies, and representatives of MAI and MAE to attend a roundtable on Romania’s accession to Schengen.
