Most sought after Romanian cultural personalities

Director Cristi Puiu, visual artist Dan Perjovschi, writer Filip Florian, playwright Peca Stefan and the band Nightlosers are the Romanian artists most actively promoted abroad. The ranking is ba­sed on data supplied by ten Roma­nian cultural institutes operating abroad, which, at the invitation of “Adevarul”, produced a report on events taking place between January 1 and November 1, 2010. The most sought after Romanian director is Cristi Puiu, who was invited at screenings and manifestations dedicated to Ro­manian film at five out of 10 cultural institutes, in Brussels, London, New York, Paris and Prague. The most keenly promoted contemporary Roma­nian writer is Filip Florian, with four appearances at events organized by cultural institutes in Berlin, London, New York and Venice.


As regards theatre, playwright Peca Stefan is the most sought after; he attended events organized by cultural institutes in Berlin, London and New York. The rhythm & blues band Nightlosers boasts the highest number of appearances in concerts offered by Romanian musicians abroad.
